WORKING FOR A BETTER BRECHIN
DIRECT ACTION IN THE COMMUNITY.
A direct action community group.
A voluntary group working to improve neglected green spaces in the Scottish city of Brechin. We have assumed responsibilty for Brechin's paddling pool and surrounding ground.
Rejuvenating neglected green space in Brechin
Direct action makes a difference.
We aim to work with the local Council and funding groups to undertake work in the community that the Council can no longer. We refuse to let un-elected bureaucrats oppose community-supported projects.
Pushing forward projects Councils won't fund.
IMPS pursues projects that the local Council has refused to fund. We go into green spaces and return assets to community control- with or without local authority permission. Whilst working as closely as we can with local government we recognise that local people, and only local people, know what's best for their community- not unelected, unaccountable and uncaring bureaucrats.
Bringing innovation to neglected communities.
We aim to bring the latest innovations to our projects. We believe that small, rural communities should not be denied modern, exciting green space.
Reinvigorating outdoor play areas.
Putting the fun back into communitites
Working to achieve Scottish government aims to increase opportunities for outdoor play and interaction for young children.
